Festivals in Osaka

My town, Osaka, is one of the oldest city in Japan. 
Actually the emperor's palace was placed in Osaka before Kyoto. 
Lots of historic buildings disappeared due to a long lapse of time here. 
Still we can see our historical events here.


 The Sumiyoshi Festival's Eve
(July 30th 2006)       
 
   		 The Sumiyoshi shrine  The Sumiyoshi shrine was built in 211.
 We will have the 1800th year anniversary event in 2011. 
 'Kagura song and dance' of the Izumo shrine was specially performed on this day.
